Artist Statement

Melissa Davis

   Following my calling to paint has brought so much healing and enrichment to my life. I paint to honor emotions and visions that come to me, asking to be incarnated on the canvas. These images I depict in my paintings often first emerge in my mind in moments of altered consciousness. They are brought forth by experiences from dreams, meditation, and psychedelics. At the core of my practice is the desire to bring more light into the world through art.
